B.C. Aims To Build Patios Fast To Due To The Pandemic

The B.C. authorities have proceeded into fast-track terrace expansions to assist the state’s hospitality industry match physical-distancing guidelines summarized by the provincial health club.

The Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch is accepting online applications such as “food main, liquor manufacturer and primary licensees” to temporarily expand support areas before the end of October.

“Speeding up the procedure will assist restaurants, bars, breweries, and other licensees, and also provide British Columbians more choices for safely eating this summer, while continued to trace (provincial officer of health) Dr. Henry’s instructions,” Attorney General David Eby stated in a declaration.

Vancouver Mayor Kennedy Stewart applauded the move, saying that it matches the town’s strategy to expedite the acceptance of new patios beginning June 1. Considering that the said patios also must have the same quality as the ones made by experienced professionals such as the guys from Patio Mate, this task was really a challenge to complete.

Before this season, the Vancouver city council voted unanimously to support easing restrictions on patios.

 

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry has stated that outside seating might be an integral component in receiving dine-in support up and functioning while keeping coronavirus precautions.

Lance Verhoeff, co-owner of Fort Langley’s Trading Post Eatery, is Pleased with the modifications.

“I think that it’s a really fantastic measure for all government bodies which they are in a position to kind of put this together very fast, and lets restaurateurs, to do what we do best and let clients be outdoors and enjoying the sun while having some fantastic beer, food, and wine.”
